Sachin's 72 paves way for a comfortable win against CSK

Sachin Tendulkar, captain Mumbai Indians (MI), paved the way for his team’s fourth victory in the five DLF IPL Season 3 T 20 matches defeating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Brabourne Stadium on Thursday. This five wicket victory took the Mumbai Indians on top of the IPL 3 table. Mumbai Indians crushed Chennai Super Kings by scoring 180 in 19 overs. Sachin and Shikhar gave a power packed start to the chase. Opener Shikhar Dhawan who was chosen ahead of Sanath Jayasuriya to share the crease with Sachin Tendulkar proved it that chasing a target of 9 runs per over was not very difficult. The openers gave some free-flowing runs with their explosive start. Both the batsman displayed a good game of cricket with their aggressive but careful batting spree. The unstoppable Sachin was mesmerizing as usual and the skipper eventually got caught by Dhoni on Balaji’s ball making his gigantic 72 runs off 52 balls that included 8 fours and a six. He won the Man-of –the Match award. This was his highest score in T 20 cricket

The left hander Shikhar Dhawan then took the game in his hands and continued to keep the pace giving some great hits. He delivered 2 huge sixes on Bajali’balls until he got caught by Raina on Jakati’s balls. He accumulated 56 runs off 34 balls. Both Sachin and Shikhar added 92 runs in 8.5 overs. Earlier captain Sachin Tendulkar won the toss and asked CSK to bat first. Suresh Raina, once again proved trustworthy when he went on with his bat and shared the second highest IPL 3 partnership (142 runs in just 91 deliveries) ever with Badrinath, both making unbeaten half centuries. Suresh Raina scored an amazing 83 from 52 balls that had 7 boundaries and 3 sixes. Badrinath slammed 55 off 45 balls with 6 fours. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) set a target of 180 runs before Mumbai Indians (MI). Unsatisfied by his team’s bowling line up Dhoni said, “We are loosing confidence in the bowling department,” after the smashing defeat to Mumbai Indians.
